West Branch Middle School to the rescue. More specifically, West Branch Middle School’s 3D printer helped save a Mahoning County farmer who needed help with a piece of farming equipment. When the farmer purchased two insecticide boxes for his John Deere corn planter, he discovered they were missing the small plastic bottom covers. After checking with John Deere dealers, he learned that the part could not be purchased individually and that ordering a part for the job would be too expensive. He then reached out to Denise Ginocchi, who teaches a STEM course at the middle school. He asked Ginocchi if the school’s 3D printer could make the envelopes. West Branch Middle School students Joel Sanor and Everett Zippay said they were happy to help, and the pair made the pieces for the farmer.
