Eplus3D launches the EP-M400S metal 3D printer with multiple laser configuration options

Eplus3D has introduced its metal additive manufacturing EP-M400S, with multiple laser configurations available to users.

Designed with flexibility and performance in mind, the EP-M00S offers users the choice of one, two, three or four lasers with multiple power levels of 500W, 700W and 1kW for each laser.

With this option, as well as the four different efficiency modes available in its EP Control software, Eplus3D is confident that its user base can tailor the machine to the specific needs of their applications. The machine also offers a build volume of 400 x 400 x 450 mm, a spot size between 70 and 120 µm, the ability to create layer thicknesses between 20 and 120 µm and a maximum scanning speed of 8 m/s. It is also compatible with Eplus3D’s titanium alloy, aluminum alloy, nickel alloy, maraging steel, stainless steel, cobalt chrome and copper alloy material products.

Meanwhile, a top-feed powder hopper and bi-directional powder coating capabilities are said to help reduce dispensing time by up to 30%, streamlining the powder coating process and providing “significant time savings.” The machine is also fully compatible with Eplus3D’s EP-MS600 ultrasonic sieving machine and EP-MF400 powder feeding system, allowing the EP-M400S to refill the powder tank without interrupting the printing process, which in turn saves time while preserving powder conditions in an inert atmosphere.

Eplus3D has also reduced the size of the machine by 10% compared to the previous specification and added features to make cleaning and maintenance points on the machine easier to access.

A press release from Eplus3D states: “Eplus3D’s EP-M400S is a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to groundbreaking advances in metal additive manufacturing, driving the industry forward with innovative solutions that redefine the possibilities of industrial production.”

Last year, Eplus3D launched the EP-M1550 16 laser 3D printer after unveiling the device at TCT Asia 2023. The company also recently partnered with Scheftner to advance metal 3D printing in the dental field.
