Posted January 17, 2020 · PETG brittle after printing. My PETG (mostly from DevilDesign) absorbs over the time moisture too. Less in the winter times and more in summer depending how much humidity we have. But this isn't a big deal as you can get rid of it easily in an oven. Link to post.

petg print very brittle. I bought some black esun petg the filament seems fine on the spool not brittle but all the prints are very brittle. Printing with a qidi x-one with temps at 240 head and 70 bed. Esun recommends 230 - 250 head no heat to 80 on the bed. I'm at my whits end trying to figure this out i'm thinking bad filament.

level 1. B20bob. · 10m. I have found through experimentation that if you print PETg too hot it comes out brittle. I know that statement goes against the old saying that the hotter the better with PETg, because of layer adhesion. But that's just what I've found.

PETG is the most common form of PET used for 3D printing filament. The G stands for glycol-modified, and this makes the resulting resin more clear and less brittle than raw PET. Raw PET typically isn’t used for 3D printing.
