The latest generation of 3D printers have set a new benchmark for fast printing. But materials are still the missing link. PolySonic is Polymaker’s answer to the new era of high-speed FFF Printing.
PolySonic materials exhibit a wider extrusion window when compared to regular PLA filaments, producing a 30% increase in volumetric flow rate at the same printing temperatures when compared to regular PLA filaments.
The forming of the material is the printing characteristic that features after the filament leaves the nozzle. As auxiliary part cooling fans are becoming more common in 3D printer design, the filament’s ability to rapidly cool and form on the previous layer is the determining factor to final print quality.
As flow rates increase during printing, the extrusion efficiency of the material reduces and micro-slipping occurs between the filament and extruder gears. This leads to under-extrusion on printed parts and is caused by the filament not fully melting to its core inside the nozzle.

An improved toughness PLA compounded with impact modifiers that produce ductility similar to ABS and stiffness outperforming ASA & PETG. Initially available in 2 colors.
