Australia has provided Ukraine with a metal 3D printer and anti-drone system as part of a $20 million military aid package

As part of a $20 million military aid package to Ukraine, Australia is sending a metal 3D printer and anti-drone systems. This is reported by the West Australian.

The military aid package includes demining equipment, portable X-ray machines, a 3D metal printer and drone defense systems developed by Australian companies DroneShield, Micro-X, Minelab and SPEE3D.

In addition, the Australian government announced that a Royal Australian Air Force E-7A Wedgetail aircraft was deployed to Germany to support the delivery of international humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine.

“Australia continues to steadfastly support Ukraine in defending itself against Russia’s illegal and immoral invasion. This contribution will give Ukraine some of the best capabilities in the world while investing in Australia’s sovereign defense industry and technology sector,” said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Australian Defense Industry Minister Pat Conroy thanked Australian companies for their support in providing assistance to Ukraine.

He noted that metal 3D printers can be used to print spare parts and demining equipment, and that portable X-ray machines can provide crucial assistance to Ukrainian military personnel on the battlefield.
