If you’re just getting started in the world of 3D printing, you can’t go wrong with the Anycubic Photon Mono 2, featured on our list of the best 3D printers. We voted it the best budget resin 3D printer and it’s a great upgrade to the previous Mono 4K, with better print resolution and size. You can get it on Anycubic’s website, but it’s even cheaper on Amazon, where it’s already available reduced to $152 if you Cut out the voucher.
The Photon Mono 2 has a larger build area of 165 x 89 x 143 millimeters, which is on the smaller side but is particularly suitable for minis and smaller models. Still, the prints are highly detailed for their small size, with the Dungeons & Dragons minis showing weapon details and even wrinkles in clothing. The printing speed is also pretty good at around two to three seconds per layer, which isn’t bad for a budget-friendly 3D printer.
There’s also a nice color touchscreen on the front that’s relatively simple, and the Photon Mono 2 comes with Anycubic’s new slicer. Photon Workshop 3 may not be the slicer of choice for more experienced people, but it’s a good starting point if you’ve never printed before. Plus, it’s relatively large at 390 x 229 x 235 mm, so it can easily fit in your workshop, office or wherever you want to place it. However, keep in mind that this is a resin printer and requires good ventilation and UV light to cure your print.
The Anycubic Photon Mono 2 is a great entry-level printer, especially if you primarily want to create minis and other smaller prints. However, if you want something larger or don’t want to deal with resin, there are some other great 3D printer deals you can take advantage of.
