MONMOUTH (HOI) – A 13 year old from Monmouth is recognized for using his 3D printing skills to help his community in need.
David Simmons saw his local Cass County health workers run out of PPE and decided to put his 3D printing skills to the test. He designed more than 150 face shields.
He is now recognized through UScellular’s The Future of Good program and is receiving $ 10,000 to help move his cause forward.
“When you create something that helps people, you feel so much more fulfilled than if you just design little trinkets to play with,” said Simmons.
Simmons said he plans to use the money to keep creating various devices with his 3D printer to help those around him.
